I’ve finally come to the conclusion that my body has changed. I wouldn’t say that I was in denial about it, but as I mentioned before, I am definitely surprised that I didn’t have a quick snap back after pregnancy. As a naturally slim ting, I assumed that I would bounce back rather quickly, and brag about it on social media. But NOPE! God had other plans for me. Now

I’m out here with a fupa, while my sister (Who also just had a baby), is out here looking exactly how she looked before, like a snack! Yup, I’m hating! How am I supposed to move forward? I’m used to wearing belly tops, body-cons, and tight shirts. What am I supposed to wear now? The issue I have with my stomach is not really the size, because truthfully it is about the same size it was before pregnancy. My issue is the shape. Don’t get me wrong, it has drastically changed, and is now looking semi-regular, but I’m still not quite where I want to be. I’m very proud of the work I’ve done to get where I am as far as size. I stopped eating carbs, I worked out, and I’ve gotten great results. I just don’t feel comfortable wearing the belly tops yet. I’ve decided to tweak my wardrobe a little this summer so I can still wear the things I want to wear, and continue feeling like myself. This is a brief list detailing the types of items you might see me in, and also what you can use for yourself if you have this same issue.

I just want to put out a disclaimer that I am not ashamed of my body, and you shouldn’t be ashamed of yours. This is a natural part of becoming a mom, and we are blessed to have gotten here. It’s ok to want to go back to your old body, and its ok to love your new body. Do whatever you want, just make sure you own it, and do it with a smile..and in style. 🙂

High-Waisted Everything!: This is my go-to style. God bless the person who invented the high-waisted style! I wear a lot of high-waisted items because the bottom part of my stomach is what I need to hide. These items allow you to keep it sexy, while taking attention off of your tummy. I usually add a belly top to it because the top half of my stomach is in tip top shape.

Peplum Tops: This is a must have because you can always pair it with something tight on the bottom to keep yourself looking feminine. The way it falls over your stomach allows you to dress it up or dress it down. I like to wear these tops to work (Minus the sheer of course!). I like them best as a dressy look.

Maxi Dresses: Do I really need to say anything else?! I think this is every woman’s go to look in the summer, and I’m so happy that I still love wearing them. I always try to get one with a belted or ruched mid-rift.

Boyfriend Jeans/Shirts: In my opinion this style should always be worn with a high heel. I know some girls who can pull it off with a pair of sneakers, but I don’t like that look on myself. Boyfriend attire is always going to be baggy on us, and will always shield your body. I don’t do this look too often, but when I do, I try to make it as feminine as possible!

What are some of your essentials? I’m always looking to add more!
