Today was a good day. My morning started off pretty productive. I’m trying to get into cooking my own food for every meal of the day because options near my job are almost non-existent. I’ve never really been the type to complain about food, but I can officially say that they don’t have much of a variety. I’m trying to get into the habit of making & packing breakfast, lunch, and snacks each day, so that I won’t have to deal with spending money on nonsense, plus it’ll save me some time to work on my

endeavors during my lunch breaks. This morning I woke up extra early and made myself this seafood/veggie dish, which I was very proud of. It’s one of my go-to dishes when I’m in a rush, but I was just happy that I took the time to do it.  While I made this dish I also had my breakfast cooking. Look at me, adulting! :). I saved myself about $18 and an attitude by doing this. Now I’m trying to make it a habit.

Later in the day I met up with my friend Shaunte, and we attended the Essence Future 15 event in the city. The place had an intimate crowd, and it was decorated beautifully. The reason for the event was to honor 15 up and coming Black millennials in tech, fashion, and art. Honorees included: Ayesha Curry, Amanda Seales, Logan Browning, Ade Samuel, and more. We had a good time, and it felt really good to get out for a little while.

By the time the night ended I was BEAT! I’m so old lol. I have decided to make it a habit to get to more of these events. They’re good for networking, and that’s exactly what I need to do to build my brand. Hopefully they’re kid-friendly lol.
